Kyle Mathieson
Master Stylist/ Co-owner
Kyle began his career in 2012 at the Aveda Institute and Academy in Toronto. He started working in Aveda salons across the GTA and joined the team at Embu in 2014 and has co-owned Embu hair in the junction since 2019. Kyle is a knowledgeable and talented stylist and color technician whose specializations include baby lights, balayage, and cutting and styling long hair. Additionally, Kyle is an Aveda educator with a passion for sharing knowledge. His commitment to teaching and mentoring new talent in the industry reflects his dedication to the craft and desire to elevate the skills of aspiring stylists.
Jessica Nguyen
Master Stylist/ Co-owner
Jessica began her career in 2013 at the Aveda Institute and Advanced Academy. Since then, Jessica has expanded her skill set and honed in on her passion for barbering, making her our go-to for killer fades and short hair. As a co-owner here at Embu Junction, Jessica is dedicated to providing our guests with excellent service and overall experience during their time at Embu Junction.
Thao Le
Junior Stylist
Thao started at the Aveda Institute in January 2019. Thao has been working behind the chair as a stylist since then. She offers a fresh perspective and youthful vibe to her guests' and gets guests to reimagine the way they see themselves. Thao is our go-to girl for updos, vibrant colour work, and beautiful balayages.
Raquel Gomes
Junior Stylist
Raquel graduated from Marca in 2021. She is our newest addition to the team and is eager to soak up the world of hair like a sponge. Raquel has grown since joining the Embu Junction team and has expanded her skill set to cut and colour all types of hair. Come to momma!
Patricia Ferreira
Content Creator and Guest Experience Coordinator
Patricia comes from the world of advertising and public relations and has been managing brands since 2019. While Patricia isn't working full-time as a Communications Coordinator at McMaster, she is working with us at the salon on Saturdays. She coordinates appointments with clients via social media or phone and is constantly coming up with new ways to create content for Embu's social media page. We love the way she captures the vibe of Embu and the experience our guests have with us in just a few short clips!
Monique
Monique discovered her passion for hairstyling in high school, where she studied hair and aesthetics for three years and competed in Skills Canada competitions. After graduating, she trained at the Aveda Institute and Academy, completing both the full-time colour and part-time cutting programs with a focus on becoming an educator. She went on to teach at both the Institute and Academy before returning to working behind the chair. With 13 years as part of the Embu team, Monique brings deep Aveda-rooted experience to every client. She specializes in colour—highlights, balayage, and creative transformations—and loves finishing each look with a tailored cut or style.
